One of the reasons I bought my 2005 Pontiac Vibe was because it claims to have 32 MPG. We all know the car rarely drives at the MPGs listed, so when I gauged it from a combination of local and highway driving it was actually closer to 24MPGs.
Pierre put a fuel efficiency crystal on the car for me. So far, at half a tank (of a 12 gallon tank) I have driven 180 miles of the same local and highway driving. That would mean I’ve been getting about 30 mpgs. Thats a 20% increase in efficiency, and at $3.80/gallon, about $9.12 in savings per tank of gas.
